Export Sea Packaging

A crane spends 30+ days at sea before it reaches you. This is how we make sure it arrives exactly as it left the factory — the standards, the process and the documents.

Seaworthy Packaging Standard

Every order is packed to seaworthy standard, component by component. Structural parts travel wrapped in plastic film under heavy tarpaulin — with a rope net over the wrap on break-bulk sailings so deck handling and swell can't shred it, an optional welded steel frame for container-shipped girders, and channel-steel skids under end carriages so forklifts and stacked cargo bear on steel, never on paint. Loose steel (walkways, railings, ladders) is bundled in channel frames; small pieces are cased so nothing goes missing.

Plywood Cases & Steel Frames

Core components — hoist, trolley, gearboxes, brakes, drums, hooks, electrics — ship in fumigation-free plywood cases (ISPM-15 exempt: no fumigation treatment or certificate needed at destination). Every case is lined with tarpaulin inside and braced internally to match its contents, so nothing shifts on the water. What doesn't fit a case gets a frame: oversized trolley assemblies travel in welded steel frames under tarp, and operator cabins go in half-open crates framed to protect the glazing.

Rust & Moisture Protection

Before anything is wrapped, every machined surface gets anti-rust grease plus a film wrap: wheel bores and treads, axles, gears, couplings, motor shafts and mounting faces, flange faces — 30+ days of sea air never touches bare machined steel. Electrical cabinets and component boxes are sealed in moisture-barrier bags with desiccant before casing, because salt fog is what actually kills electronics at sea. The paint system itself is specified for your stated environment. For storage and touch-up after arrival, see How To Prevent Crane Parts From Rust.

Container Loading & Lashing

Standard components load into 20’ / 40’ containers with wood blocking and steel-strap lashing at engineered tie-down points. Girders over container length ship break-bulk or on flat racks with a lashing plan. Every container is photographed before the doors close — you receive the photos with your shipping documents.

Shipping Marks & Export Documents

Every package — case, bundle or frame — carries clearly marked center of gravity and sling points (mandatory for off-center heavy pieces), with shipping marks matching the translated packing list exactly. The packing list rides inside and outside every case, so customs and your warehouse check goods without blind unpacking. Your document set: packing list, commercial invoice, bill of lading, certificate of origin — and because our cases are fumigation-free, no fumigation certificate is required.

Tip for first-time importers: send us your port and we will confirm the full document checklist for your country's customs before shipment.

Small Cranes: Portable Gantry & Jib

Our best-selling small products don't need the girder-scale packaging above — each ships in compact formats sized to the order.

Portable Gantry Crane

Two formats: knocked down, film-wrapped and strapped on a pallet — wooden or steel — or fully enclosed in a wooden case.

Jib Crane

Column and arm travel tarpaulin-wrapped and strapped — or film-wrapped and secured on a steel pallet.
